Releases horsepower by under driving the water pump and alternator. Reduces water pump speed to 57% of the crank speed allowing the water / coolant to absorb more temperature from the engine. This maintains a 40-45% underdrive ratio for high RPM engines that need the water to pass through the block and head at a slower rate to absorb more temperature.
