Releases horsepower by underdriving the water pump and alternator. When used with our underdrive water pump pulley, it reduces the water pump speed to 57% of the crank speed allowing the water/ coolant to absorb more temperature from the engine
The serpentine pulley doesn't have any degree marks as it's generally used on engines that have electronic fuel injection and you only need a TDC mark, not the additional degrees like you would use with a distributor ignition on a carburated engine.
Works with our lite-weight 5" serpentine waterpump pulleys to maintain a 40-45% underdrive ratio for high RPM engines that need the water to pass through the block and head at a slower rate to absorb more temperature.,
Serpentine belt part number suggestions:
Use Duralast # 243K3 with the 2.9" serpentine crank pulley and our 5" serpentine waterpump pulley and no other accessories. We don't recommend running the 2.9" serpentine crank pulley with any accessories other than the waterpump so it's pretty much a race only piece!
